When do you start working with students?

Students start the college planning process at different stages. We designed a detailed plan for each grade level which can be found on the Services page. Each plan provides students with an appropriate timeline and checklists based on grade level.

How do you meet with students?
We primarily work with students virtually. We know students have very demanding schedules, and we will do our best to accommodate their particular needs.

Do you offer tutoring or test preparation?
We do not offer tutoring or test prep services. We do provide our clients with resources and current information about standardized testing as the landscape changes frequently.
Can you guarantee admission for my child to one of their top choice colleges?
No. We cannot guarantee admission to any college or university (and caution working with any advisor who does). We guide our students on how to present authentic and compelling applications as they apply to a well researched and carefully considered list of colleges.
What are the benefits of hiring an independent college advisor?
We respect the role and importance of a high school counselor and we aim to work in synergy. A college admissions advisor is a trained professional who can assist your student in managing the college admissions process, breaking down the many components into an organized plan that most high school counselors simply don’t have the time to do. Hiring an advisor may also help you recoup some costs in the long run, as they can help determine “fit” and suggest schools you may never have considered that offer merit aid to qualified applicants.

Do you only work with students applying to highly selective colleges?
No.We work with students of all academic backgrounds. We pride ourselves in helping each individual student explore and understand their options to make the best personal choices. With over 3,000 colleges & universities in the US, we believe every student who aspires to attend college can and should have that opportunity.
How involved are parents in the college search and application process?
A parent’s support and encouragement is essential. When it comes to college admissions, think of your role shifting to consultant vs. manager; to provide a sounding board for your student as they consider their choices. Assist with logistics and organization, attend all college-related parent meetings at your student’s school, help students arrange college visits, and oversee financial aid paperwork. Parents play a key role when it comes to college finances so it is important to have a family conversation early in the application process to discuss affordability.
